My Water Series is based on the shapes and lines of water. I created a body of work of contemporary jewelry, small scale sculptures, line drawings, polaroids and fiber sculptures. I used the  polaroid camera to capture images of water while exploring Finland, Iceland and Oregon, USA., either on boat or by foot. These images I use as my source materials to create my series of water.

Primarily, I have used hand dyed indigo fabrics, gel medium, thread, steel wire, paper, sterling silver, wood, and found objects to create line, texture and volumetric forms. They become unique explorations of water inspired forms through a large variety of methods and materials that are combined together.  For example, fabric components were sewed together. Afterwards I fabricated elaborated silver and brass settings to hold the fibrous components.  In addition, I have also been exploring reverse applique techniques by layering, embroidering and sewing together a variety of textiles including felt sheets, silk and cotton. Afterwards I cut away layers of the fabric to expose the colors and textures beneath to represent the forms and shapes of water.

In addition, I created small modular sculptures made from hydraulic pressed silver bowls that I pierced and formed. One form is embossed with an etched image of water, pierced and oxidized using boiled egg yolks. While another form is holding translucent white quartz, I found it alongside the road on my daily walks to the nearby lake in Finland.
