Cuttlebone casting is an ancient metalsmithing and jewelry technique that is still used today. I make a mold from the bone of a cuttlefish and pour molten metal directly into the bone. As a result, a beautiful and repetitive texture is created. I then pierced and lightly domed the castings to create a small structural form inspired by coral.
