Cuttlebone casting is an ancient metalsmithing and jewelry technique that is still used today. I make a mold from the bone of a cuttlefish and pour molten metal directly into the bone. As a result, a beautiful and repetitive texture is created. I then pierced and lightly domed the casting to create a beautiful motif inspired by coral. Lastly the form is powder coated with this beautiful chartreuse (yellow-green).
